Nina D.
Private tutor in Mattapoisett, MA
Education
I am a native speaker of Spanish, formally educated in a Spanish speaking country ( Mexico ), and graduated from a University before coming to the USA (Universidad del Nuevo Mundo, Mexico). I Graduated in 1992 with a Media Communications Bachelor Degree. I have been working as a Consultant in Advertising Campaigns, Groups and Conventions, as a Spanish interpreter/translator since 1997 and Teaching Spanish Immersion Programs to Children from 5 to 12 years old in Rhode Island since 2009.
Experience
My professional field is in media communications, and I have a strong background in advertising campaigns and in press, archeology, legal, medical, financial, technology, engineering and promotional translator, I have been working as a Health, Marketing, Education and Legal translator and, as a Medical and Court Interpreter in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I have a strong general knowledge of the Spanish language on a wide range of fields. Learning to understand and speak Spanish opens up a new world of opportunity for children. When children learn a second language, they develop a more sophisticated knowledge of languages in general, including their first language. Frustrated by the lack of high-quality Spanish immersion programs I decided to teach and create my own Spanish worksheets that I have been using since I started teaching.
